Build

Students use professional AI tools to create real, working web apps, games, quizzes, and tools from day one. No boring syntax drills. Just ideas becoming reality.

Learn

Computational thinking. Creative problem-solving. Prompt engineering. Public speaking. The skills that will define the next decade, while having a blast.

Launch

The program culminates in Demo Day: students present their best project on stage to parents, teachers, and community members, and win awards for it.

90 minutes a week, the same proven rhythm that ends with demos, because builders show their work.

WEEK 01

First Spark

Set up, learn to prompt, and build a first working project, all in under 90 minutes.

WEEK 02

The Art of the Prompt

Clear instructions get better results. Prompt showdowns and the RICE framework.

WEEK 03

Debug Like a Detective

Read errors, spot bugs, and use AI to fix them. The first version is never the last.

WEEK 04

Build for Someone Else

Interview a partner about a real problem, then build the thing that solves it.

WEEK 05

APIs and Real Data

Connect projects to the real world: live weather, trivia, and data feeds.

WEEK 06

Data That Sticks

Apps that remember: saving scores, input, and preferences across sessions.

WEEK 07

Polish and Pitch

Pick a showcase project, refine the design, and practice a 2-minute pitch.

Demo Day ⚡

Present on stage to parents and guests. Awards, certificates, and what's next.

For parents

Safety is built in, not bolted on.

Every one of the 8 sessions includes a dedicated digital-safety lesson. These aren't afterthoughts. They're core curriculum.

Supervised program accounts only

Students never connect personal email, social media, or existing accounts. Every tool runs through program-managed accounts set up by the instructor.

No personal information in AI tools

Students are explicitly taught never to enter their real name, address, school, or any identifying information into AI tools or their projects.

Parental permission required

Any use of information that could be traced back to a student requires explicit written parent permission. A firm program rule, not a suggestion.

Filtered tools, monitored sessions

All AI tools have robust content filters, and the instructor monitors student interactions with AI tools throughout every session.

Meet the instructor

Summer Yang

Educator · Builder · Former Quant

Summer spent her career as a quant, writing code and building models in one of the most demanding, detail-obsessed corners of finance, where the software has to work. Now she brings that same rigor (and a lot more fun) to teaching kids to build with AI. When she's not in the classroom, she's speedcubing, baking increasingly ambitious sourdough, or getting beaten at Mario Kart by her students. Her philosophy: every kid is a builder. They just need the right tools and someone to say "go."

Parents ask us

Does my child need coding experience?

No. The program is designed for complete beginners. AI tools handle the heavy lifting of syntax so students can focus on ideas, logic, and creativity. Experienced coders are challenged too: we push them toward more ambitious projects.

What will my child actually build?

Real, working projects they can access via a URL and show anyone. Students have built personal websites, quiz games, weather apps, homework trackers, and tools to help organize family events. Every student leaves every session with something that works.

How is this different from other coding programs?

Most coding programs teach kids to follow tutorials or memorize syntax. We teach kids to identify problems, imagine solutions, and use AI as a building tool to bring those solutions to life. The real skill is creative problem-solving, clear communication, and iterative thinking.

What device does my child need?

Any laptop with a web browser and internet access. Chromebooks work great, and we can provide loaners if needed.

Can I observe a session?

Absolutely. Parents are welcome to sit in, especially for Session 8, Demo Day, which is designed as a showcase for families and guests.

What happens after the 8 weeks?

We're planning a summer camp extension (a full-week intensive) for students who want to go deeper, plus resources for continued independent building and possible advanced sessions in the fall.
